PRIESTNALL – Clara Mae (nee Simons)

August 4, 1913 – May 9, 2010

Clara Priestnall passed away peacefully on Sunday May 9, 2010 surrounded by caring and compassionate staff at Staywell Manor.

Her surviving family; daughter Penny, son in law Murray, grandchildren Stephen and Maureen and great grandchild Ryan had so many happy times with her. She was always so appreciative of even the smallest things that family and friends did for. She was always very active participating enthusiastically in activities such as bridge, curling, golf and bowling. She was always ready, on the shortest notice, to be with family and friends.

When Clara turned ninety years old she held a tea at the Calgary Golf and Country Club for her family and friends. This tea was to be in place of a funeral service at the time of her death. We will honour that wish. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Clara’s name may be made directly to The Children’s Cottage Society of Calgary, 845 McDougall Road N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 5A5, Tel: (403) 283-4274, www.childrenscottage.ab.ca .

Clara was predeceased by her husband George in 1994 and her daughter Olwen in 2007. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Clara Priestnall, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403) 243-8200.

  1. Charlene Lucko :

Dear Penny and Murray and family,
I am very sad to hear of my little Clara`s passing. She was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. She always had a smile, wave and kiss for me.
Her figurine stands proudly on my china cabinet where I see it everytime I sit at the table and think of her every time.
Thank you for loving her as much as you did and visited when she would ask for you.
She is finally at peace and smiling now from above.
    Hugs, Charlene
