Claire Marie Prefontaine, beloved wife of Rene Prefontaine of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the age of 62 years.
Born in Edmonton on May 28, 1951, Claire received her degree in Education from the University of Calgary and made her career as a teacher specializing in ESL and Special Education. Claire married Rene on November 25, 1972. They lived in Edmonton, Prince George, Balfour and Calgary. She was affiliated with the Catholic Church. Claire’s greatest achievements in life were her children and she was passionate about her grandkids and art. Claire loved to travel, and was especially fond of the Alaskan cruise she took with her mom and sisters and travelling through Asia with her husband.
Besides her loving husband Rene, Claire is remembered by her daughter Chantelle Prefontaine; her son and daughter-in-law Andy and Christine Prefontaine; and three grandchildren, Brayden, Lucas and Dillon, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her mother Yolande Kodallas; and siblings, Madeleine Dublonko, Paul Cormier, Paulette Sparreboom, and Denise Aspin.
A Celebration of Claire’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
