Îyâ snato Wîyâ (Mountain Meadow Valley Woman)
June 2, 1922 – Sundre, Alberta
October 4, 2014 – Banff, Alberta

Înâ, was called home by the Great Spirit on October 4, 2014 at the age of 92 years.

She was very committed to her traditional teachings and values in the Nakoda Culture which enabled her to keep strong values that kept a deep faith in her spirituality. Înâ’s generosity showed her to be a kind and loving person. Her unconditional love showed in her passion of being around children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, to whom she passed on her traditional teachings which carried the rights of passage as a sundancer, committed since the age of 5.

Înâ is survived by her loving children, Karen (Harry), Jennifer (Bruce), Clifford (Bernadette), Delia, Leo (Tracey) and Marilyn (Marvin); sister-in-laws, Kathleen and Rena Poucette; adopted grandson, Randy (Amanda) Big Sorrelhorse; 33 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; cousins from the Beaver, Crawler, Twoyoungmen, Dixon, Amos, Kootenay, McLean, Bearspaw, Powderface and Wildman families; and special cousins Irene Baptiste, Georgie Chiniquay, Violet Rider, and Joe Poucette Jr. She was predeceased by her father, Sam Beaver; her mother, Mary Poucette; siblings, Paul, Andy, Pierce, Joyce, John and Casey Poucette; daughter, Connie; cousin Joe Poucette who died in WWII; grandchildren, Tyrone, Darryl; and great grandson Jimmy. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Tyla Poucette (Morley, AB) on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 and Thursday, October 9, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at the residence of Tyla Poucette (Morley, AB) on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Wesley Cemetery (Morley, AB).
