We had so much fun the rest of the night and I have great pics of us together with OUR team jerseys on…she was a joy to be around, so full of life and laughter and also seeing the love you both had for each other always put a smile on my face…I was lucky to have known such a wonderful woman…I wish you all comfort in this time of sorrow…many hugs to you all!

I am the swift up lifting rush,of quiet birds in circling flight.I am the soft moonlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry.I am not there. I did not die. John I hope this poem Helps. 79. Wayne and Bettie Clark Past Grand Presidents F.O.E. :

    Dear Zuby
Because your blessed soul began its journey to the other world so unexpectedly, I realized I lacked the words to express proper respect for the Potter and Shivji families. Even though Bettie and I have been fast friends and fraternal brothers and sisters with you and John for a very long time, I felt it fitting to research elements of your life that helped make you who you are. (Besides John of course) Things like your home land and your religion.

First I read that “the ethics and faith of the Ismailies revolve around the concepts of volunteerism, generosity, compassion and self-reliance.” No wonder you were such a perfect match for the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served us all with so much honor and distinction. (We will never forget that wonderful smile when the judges announced your perfect 100% score in Grand Rapids Ritual competition)

I also read about an Ismaili poet who addressed a deceased person and said: “While you were alive, you gave me many a lesson, reminder and admonition, Today your death provides me with the most important lesson.”
Eerily similar to the lecture we Eagles receive at the station of Equality during enrollment…”this Equality at the grave is the lesson that Death teaches and the man who learns it early in life, early finds happiness in the knowledge.”

Finally, we find you spent your early life in a place called Dar-es-Salaam which translates to “an abode/home of peace.” And we are grateful in the knowledge that soon your precious soul will abide in a new and eternal home and place of peace.

To Brother John Potter, we pray also for an early return of peace…Salaam, for you and yours.

    John and Family,
We send our deepest condolences from Penang, Malaysia. We will always remember our time together on Holland America’s World Cruise from the time when we met you and Zuby in Buenos Aires in February 2012 until we disembarked in Sydney – more than 30-days later. We have many good memories about our happy times together = our private tour on Easter Island; strolling the deck in the early morning meeting Zuby almost every day; sharing photos at lunch time and the New Orleans Jazz festival at poolside. Zuby always had a beautiful smile for us and cheerful greeting. Our best to you and family. Michael and Virginia Zullo.

  97. Michael & Debbie Carnevale :

To my dearest family, some things I’d like to say…
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I’m writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there’s no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I’m out of sight.
Remember that I’m with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, “I welcome you.”

It’s good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they’ll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you’re part of my plan.
There’s so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day’s chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you….in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn’t understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o’er.
I’m closer to you now, than I ever was before.

    There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I’d like it for you too…
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who’s in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night……”My day was not in vain.”
And now I am contented….that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
    When you’re walking down the street, and you’ve got me on your mind;
I’m walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it’s time for you to go…. from that body to be free,
remember you’re not going…..you’re coming here to me.
