To Bob, the girls and your family, with heavy hearts we offer our sincerest condolences on the sad loss of Jean. In the many years we have known Jean, her love, kindness, concern and friendship for her family and friends was always there, and even in the later years when she was coping with health challenges. Jean you always wore your heart on your sleeve. It was our privilege to know and love you, we will always remember you in our prayers. We would like to offer this short poem for you:
“Remember me when I have gone away, gone far away into the silent land, yet if you should forget me for awhile, better by far you should forget and smile, Than that you should remember and be sad.

    Jean darling.
So, so sad you have passed away and I send heartfelt condolences to your Bobby, Margaret, Allison, Elsa and Jennifer.
I can never forget your comforting hospitality to Mandy and Woody when they were thousands of miles away from home and the unexpected happened.
Dave and I made the journey to Calgary to personally thank you and Bobby for your kindness and of course, so the two ‘old’ Gordon Highlanders could reminisce [which they did constantly].
You were an absolute gem of a lady and an inspiration to so many. I will never forget you.
I do hope you are making Dave plenty of cups of tea. He will probably tell you that you passed away on his birthday !
    God bless you Jean.
    Much love
    Ronnie and family

What a sad loss to a lovely family. I remember going to their house in Twechar in the mornings to meet Elsa for school and the house was always so warm and cosy and smelling of toast, and at the heart of it was Mrs. Porter getting her girls organised. Thinking of you all at this sad time x
