February 13, 1958 – August 3, 2009
Susan Poplar, beloved wife of Maxie Poplar of Calgary, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2009 at the age of 51 years following a courageous battle with cancer. Susan’s favourite activities were house cleaning and socializing with members of the Calgary Co-Op, where she worked as a Deli Supervisor. She was very devoted to her work, and loved by all who worked with her and knew her.
Susan is lovingly remembered by her husband of 36 years, Maxie; sons Jason and Jeremy Poplar of Saint John, NB; mother Dorothy Ernestine Smith of Saint John, NB; sisters Deborah Trites, Dorothy Clark, and Patty Parkdale, all of Saint John, NB, Jackie Engen of Ottawa, and Heather Jewett of River Herbert, NS; and brother Charles Smith of Saint John, NB. Susan will also be sadly missed by mother-in-law Eva Poplar; sisters-in-law Beverly Poplar, Lorna Melanson, and Nancy McKeigan, all of River Herbert, NS; brothers-in-law Keith Poplar, Randy Poplar, and Michael Poplar, all of River Herbert, NS, John Poplar of Eastern Passage, NS and Marty Poplar of Calgary, AB; special friend Glenna Fanjoy of Cambridge Narrows, NB; numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by her father James Smith of Saint John, NB, and father-in-law John Poplar of River Herbert, NS.
Susan’s family will hold a Celebration of her Life and Interment in New Brunswick at a later date. Please forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
