Friends and family mourn the loss of Nenad (Ned) Polancec this week. Born on December 9, 1966 in Zagreb, Croatia to parents Ivan and Ann Polancec, Ned came to Calgary as a young man. Calgary would be his home until his untimely death occurred suddenly the night of Monday, July 7, 2008.
Besides his loving wife Connie of twenty years, Ned is also survived by his three sons, Andrew, Christopher and Marko, along with beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Long time best friend and business partner, Jason Clements undoubtedly held a special place in his heart. He will also be remembered by his sisters, Anne-Marie and Lidija. The family would like to extend special thanks to following people for being instrumental in their dealing with this difficult time: Murray, Joy, Neil, Dan, Karen, Andrea, Bobby, Jelina, Nesha and countless loving friends.
Those who knew him will remember a kind and exceptionally hardworking man who was stern with his own unique sense of humour, which we will all miss. Quiet nights on the patio and cool walk through Fish Creek Park will always bring him to our minds, where he will live on forever. We regretfully say goodbye to a man who spent his life searching for peace and hope now that he has finally found it. We all love you Ned, and thank you for all the memories.
