POFFENROTH, Roy

Roy Poffenroth of Keoma, AB, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the age of 89 years.

Born in De Winton, Roy moved to Keoma with his family at the age of four, where he resided and farmed before retiring to Airdrie in August 2013.

Roy is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, Regg and Barb of Keoma, and Brett of Sundre; grandchildren, Coleen and Rob Adams, and Lori and Rod Harnack; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his partner Rose Hayes and her family. Roy was predeceased by his wife of fifty-three years Gerri in 1999.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.     Thank you for letting us know about Roy. I was so glad I had a chance to see him 2 weeks ago at the Lougheed. He was a positive disposition and we joked about the Stampeders.
