November 12, 1919 – April 26, 2012

Andrzej (Andy) Pietruch passed away suddenly at his residence on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the age of 92 years.

Andy was born in Poland. He served in World War II with the Polish Regiment under allied command. He was honorably decorated with both Polish and British war medals. After the war he immigrated to Canada, where he met and married Nellie. He was employed by CP Rail for over thirty-five years. Andy lived his life without regrets, filled with adventures. He was outgoing, loved to dance, play pool, fish, and travel. The last twenty years he spent in company of fellow veterans at the Royal Canadian Legion #154, and had daily coffee at the North Hill Mall with his polish friends. He will be missed by all. Rest in piece. Andy’s character of generosity and caring will be remembered and forever cherished by his granddaughters Lisa, Andrea, and Kassia and their families, as well as numerous polish and canadian friends and neighbours.

Andy was predeceased by his “sweetheart” Nellie in July 1990, and his only son Andrew in June 2007.
