PERSAUD, Mark

August 30, 1986 – Guyana, South America
September 1, 2013 – Calgary, AB

Mark Persaud beloved son of Marcy and Stephen; and brother of Maria Persaud passed away in his home early morning on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the age of 27 years.

He will be remembered as a passionate, down to earth and talented young man who was always willing to help when he was needed. He had a love for animals that started in the small village of Anna Catherina, Guyana and continued over the years with Buddy, Bubbles, Houdini and FuzzBall. Mark took his passion for cars and turned it into a career as a mechanic.

He was a limitless sports fanatic and loved playing Dodgeball, hockey and paintball with his friends. In addition to that, he had a fearless spirit and was always up for a new challenge.

He was the happiest young man (especially when eating his mom’s cooking) and had a smile that lit up a room. Mark was a true treasure to all those who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services were held at St. Marks Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive N.E.) on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:00a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Mark Persaud, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Eastside Memorial Chapel, 5388 MEMORIAL DRIVE N.E., Calgary, AB Telephone: 403-248-8585.

I lived downstairs from Mark for about a year. In that time we became very close, and I would of considered him family. He was always someone I could go to with anything and he would listen and help when he could. I will never forget mark or what amazing friend he was. He will be greatly missed by me and others in my family. RIP MARK.

  8. Just hearing about this now for the first time over one year to the date. So saddened to hear of his passing for his close friends and family. I was introduced to Mark through his best friend (Kyle). We played together on a mixed slo pitch ball team for 3-4 years (even won a championship together). I took pride in mentoring him and giving him tips in the sport when he would ask me a question( his swing was so natural-Tony Fernandez like). What he gave back to me was a great friendship on the field, and an easy going attitude that more people should aspire towards to a daily basis. Thanks for the memories Mark, you and your family are in my prayers.
