June 3, 1922 – December 6, 2012

Eusebio Pennacchioli beloved husband of the late Ida Pennacchioli (nee Caravaggio) of Calgary, AB, passed away on December 6, 2012 at the age of 90 years.

Eusebio was born on June 3, 1922 in Rocca San Giovanni, Italy. He immigrated to Canada from Italy in 1953 and worked for the City of Calgary until his retirement in 1984. He also served his country in WWII. Eusebio married his beloved Ida on February 4, 1951. Eusebio was a passionate family man who loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed vacations with his family in Italy, California and Mexico. He also loved gardening and wine-making and was particularly proud of his spectacular vegetable and flower gardens and his many home projects, including the building of his greenhouse.

Eusebio is survived by his son Enzo and daughter-in-law Laura; grandchildren Adriana and Maxine; nephews, Luciano (Ida), Angelo (Carmel), Mario (Sharon) of Guelph, ON, Frank (Julie) of Toronto, and Nicola (Silvana) of Italy, and his niece Angela of Toronto; as well as many other relatives and friends residing in Calgary, Ontario and Italy. He was predeceased by his wife Ida; daughter Antonietta; brothers, Mauro, Emilio and Nicola; and sister Giovanna.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.     I’m so sorry to hear of your dads passing. We just noticed the sad news on the web. He was a great man, father and grandfather, not to mention husband. It was truly a pleasure to have met him. Eusebio was so much alike to my father in their thoughts and beliefs, view of life and their way of coping in this country. We will always remember their courageous move to Canada was for the betterment of our lives. This I know for certain, his goals have been a success. I will remember his smile, and yes, his quick wit in any subject discussed.
