PEILUCK – Victor

October 28, 1917 – November 24, 2009

Victor Peiluck beloved husband of the late Margrjet of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the age of 92 years.

Victor was born in Benson, Saskatchewan. He acquired his high school diploma and supplementary accounting and management accreditations in Winnipeg. Victor lived and worked in Winnipeg until 1962, until he was transferred to Vancouver. Upon retirement in 1976 he moved to Calgary to be with his son, where he later resided at the Trinity Lodge until his passing. In February of 1941 Victor joined the army in which he served till the end of the war. After a serious injury Victor entertained the troops using his musical talents. After the war he rose to be a senior investor and claims adjuster for the Canadian Pacific Railway, then became a Longshoreman superintendent at the Casco Terminals, Vancouver. He was a member of the Priddis Golf and Country Club where he scored his hole-in-one. He was a life long member of the Lutheran Church, most recently the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Calgary. Victor was a faithful volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels for many years. With Margrjet, he spent many hours at the Kitchen table doing crosswords. He was a veracious reader; enjoyed going to the movies and was a great supporter of the Festival Chorus. Victor loved to sing and was a member of the church choir.

Victor was a very kind person, caring for and supporting his siblings during the depression years, caring for his wife Margrjet during her ill health and then for his pet dog, Panda, who kept him company after Margrjet’s death. Victor never wanted anything for himself, always choosing to give to others. He was always very positive in his speaking and would say he was ‘fine’ till the day he passed away. Victor is survived by his loving son, Ronald; his grandchild, Erik Stefan Peiluck and his mother Frederika Demangeat; his sisters, Minnie and Lilly; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margrjet; sisters, Jean, Helen and Hilda; and brothers Joe and Bobby.
