PARSONS, James “Jim”

September 23, 1953 – October 9, 2012

Born September 23, 1953, Jim passed away peacefully on October 9, 2012 after a long illness. Jim will be remembered as the guy with the big voice as a radio DJ in Calgary, Kamloops and Lethbridge, as the voice of drag racing at Race City Speedway in Calgary, and as one of the resident DJs at the Ranchman’s. He is survived by his mother Anne, his brother Al (Joan) of Edmonton, and his beloved nephews; Graham of Edmonton and Scott of Vancouver. He was predeceased by his father Ernie. Many thanks to his long-time friend Paul Libin, to Rena and the wonderful people at Chinook Hospice and to Rhonda and Darcia and the Palliative Home Care team who took such good care of Jim in his final days. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Jim’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
