Josephine passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Bow-Crest Care Centre in Calgary at the age of 87 years.
Josephine was born in a small village near Vitebsk, Belarus. Life was very difficult as she endured war and poverty. She met Karl during the war and they wed on July 14, 1945, in Belgium, Germany. Josephine and Karl immigrated to Canada in 1952 and settled in Coleman, AB to make a better life. There they raised their two daughters.
Her greatest pleasures were working in her flower gardens, watching soap operas, and spending time with her feline friends. She will be greatly missed.
Josephine is survived by her two daughters, Sue Ostrowski (Mary Fadi) and Jane Snider (Linda Torunski). She was predeceased by her husband Karl in 2004.
