Condolence Messages

  1. My sincere Condolences to the Oshanek family,
I only knew Ron from working in four district as a young constable. Ron had a certain presence about him that made all the young constables feel confortable. He was quick to give praise when one did a good job and always gave sound advice. I will always remember his laugh and big smile.

  2. Lawrence A. Oshanek :

I have been filled with memories of my younger Brother Ron’s and my childhood and I have smiled at those memories and then cried over them and over the reality of the now, too many times in the past few months and days. My Brother Ron and I were clearly different. Sometimes even really different. For most people, friends, family and even children it is those differences which makes them distance themselves from each other because differences often mean conflict or uncomfortableness. It was not that way with my Brother Ron and with myself. We stayed brothers because we allowed and accepted each other to be different. Most of what I needed to say has been said directly to Ron or to him in my prayers. Goodnight Brother Ron. Rest In Peace. I love you.
    Brother Lawrence

  8. Bob Moriarty, Cork, Ireland. :

I met Ron after his early bout with the Big C, way back in early ’80s. My business partner had just finished treatment for Non-Hodgkins and Ron gave him a pep talk ’bout life after cancer, and what, with that perpetual smile of his, punctuated only by bursts of laughter, you just couldn’t but be elevated. We didn’t keep in contact after I left Canada, but for some reason, maybe because our kids were the same age, I never forgot him. “Oshanek’s the name and Homicide’s the Game”, was one of his phone greetings that amused, to say the least. He claimed to be younger than me, but I see now he was a year older. Anyway I’m sorry for your tremendous loss, and hope you can get thru this terrible time – it does get better, eventually.
    Yours Truly, Bob Moriarty

  14. Bev and I are truly saddened by the passing of Ron. We have never kept real close touch over the years but often our paths would cross and we would have a real positive meeting. We were classmates in the 60’s and that was the start of a very long friendship with many memories. Rest in Peace Ron you fought the good fight.
