  2. Carol was so instrumental in helping me plan my mother’s funeral. She did this over the counter of the Scottish Shoppe. She ordered my mother’s tartan from Scotland and took care of so many details including dressing the men in kilts. I had no clue what to do and she offered her care, concern and her heart to me over the week of deep saddness and pain. I want to offer that to you, if only by these few words. I wish I could do more…She was so special, thoughtful, loving and full of life. She was one in a million. My heart goes out to all of you during this very sad time.

Respectfully and with my deepest sympathy, Linda Braid

  7. Angeline Hayes (Seeley) :

I’m so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. I went to D.D.O. with Carol when we were just little girls. I have very good childhood memories of Carol as she was such a sweet girl who tried always to include everyone. I remember the day she and I had to get our eyes checked and discovered that we both needed glasses in elementary. We were both ‘4 eyes’ together. What a lovely girl. I loved how kind she was. My condolences to her family and loved ones. I really liked her as childhood friends.

  16. I didn’t know Carol well, only met her through a mutual friend on a few occasions, but always enjoyed her bright and positive outlook and no matter what, each time we met we always shared a laugh. I kept looking for her at the Highland Games 10 days ago, thinking for sure I’d see her there. Breaks my heart to hear this news and my condolences go to Carol’s family and friends. All will miss her terribly I’m sure.

Words cannot express what I feel right now, and to offer up nothing but my condolences to you all at this time feel inadequate in the extreme.

I can but hope that in some small way my words may bring you some comfort, and perhaps dull the pain that we are all, but none more than you, are feeling at the moment.

Initially, after hearing the sad news of Carols passing, I felt that one of the worlds brightest lights had been extinguished.

But open reflection, and after a period of soul searching, aided by reading the massive number of tributes I have seen recounting the fond memories that all hold of Carol, I have come to realise that Carol’s shining light is not extinguished, in point of fact far from it.

The fondness that every one has shown of Carol, and how much she has touched the hearts of everyone that was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to meet her, it is clear to me now that the light not only still burns, but it burns brighter now than it has ever burned.

The torch that everyone clearly carries in their hearts due to the positive impact that Carol has had on their lives is an unquestionable reflection that Carol’s passing has not dimmed that light of hers, as the collective light that we all burn through our fond memories of Carol’s is a reflection of how she touched, and STILL touches, our hearts means that her light burns brighter still.

I will, and challenge all to do likewise, to continue to fondly remember Carol, and honour her by frequently casting our minds back to the happiness that having been fortunate enough to have had our lives touched by her brings us.

And in doing so we can ensure that the light that Carol brought to the world during her time on earth will NEVER be extinguished.
