August 3, 1937 – January 20, 2012
June Sylvia Ortt beloved wife of Frank of Calgary, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the age of 74 years.
June was born in Consul, SK and was raised on a ranch. She studied in Maple Creek and went on to graduate from Nursing at the Grey Nun’s in Regina. June started her career in Estevan, where she met her husband Frank. She stopped working to raise her three children in Calgary and returned to a rewarding nursing career when they had finished school. She retired from Peter Lougheed Centre.
June was an accomplished and beautiful woman and will be remembered most for her unconditional love of family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and will be especially missed by her husband Frank who wishes to thank her for fifty years of happiness.
June will be remembered as a fun loving person filled with a compassionate spirit and kind heart.
Besides her loving husband Frank, June is survived by her siblings Clara (Alex) and Donald (Daphne); her children, Charlene (Eddie), Wayne (Sue) and Darryl (Lynn); and her grandchildren, Justin, Jenna and Caden; as well as a large extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. June was predeceased by her parents Edith and Stanley Schmidt.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice. Her family would like to thank the staff on Unit 44 of Peter Lougheed Centre for their care, compassion and kindness shown to June.

As a nursing colleague of June’s, I am so sad to hear of her passing. June was a wonderful lady and one of the best nurses at the Peter Lougheed Hospital.
