September 7, 1933 – Kirkby-In-Ashfield, Notts., England
October 29, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Betty Orgill on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the age of 80 years.
Betty immigrated to Calgary from England. She worked as a secretary at A.R. Williams Machinery, and later Purves Ritchie. She finished her career at the City of Calgary in general accounts receivable. After retirement, she spent many a day volunteering at bingo for the Youth Singers of Calgary.
Betty will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law Kim and David Wells; her granddaughters (the apples of her eye) Sara and Victoria; loving sister Jean (Dennis) Whitford; special niece Jane Tink; and her great-nephew Jasper.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. A special thank you to Mayfair Care Centre whose kindness and compassion was unsurpassed, and without a doubt, made her last days very comfortable. We would also like to thank Dr. Verbeek for the excellent care Betty received at his hand.
In living memory of Betty Orgill, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.Print This Obituary & Condolences
