It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Stanley Oistryk, beloved husband of Yvonne Oistryk of Calgary. He went to be with our Lord on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the age of 84 years.
Stanley was born in Veregin, SK and was educated at Rona Country School and Veregin. Stanley was president of the union for many years, enjoying trips to Toronto, Florida and California. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his trips to Indus and surrounding lakes in the foothills. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Upon retirement, Stanley took up golf and spent many pleasant days at Rosebud, Strathmore and Calgary, learning and playing golf. In 1951, he met and married Jennie Leon. They had two daughters and were raised in the Renfrew district. Sadly, Jennie passed away in 1969 and Stanley and his daughters carried on. In 1973 he married Yvonne Andrew and their son was born in 1975. Stanley was a family man and he cared greatly for them, He loved telling stories about his early years living near his grandparents. He played ball in Kamsack, SK. Stanley will be remembered for his dry humour, his big heart and his love of Ukrainian music.
