June 9, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Debra Ingeborg Odegard, born March 2, 1954, passed away with grace and beauty on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in the presence of song, prayer and scripture, surrounded by her husband, five children, and her sister. Debra is survived by her husband of 34 years, Keith Odegard, sister Karen Johansen, daughters Ingrid Odegard, Kristen Odegard, Britt Odegard, Annika (Spencer) Cheyne, son Luther (Ivanna) Odegard, and granddaughter Liesel Odegard. Debra is predeceased by her parents, Hans and Ingjerd Idland.

Debra was a faithful, committed child of God who lived a life full of joy and exuberance; she possessed an infectious enthusiasm for people from all walks of life. One always knew she was in the room by her distinct laugh and ability to connect with anyone. Debra bravely fought her battle with cancer by socializing with others and throughout her journey maintained a sense of determination and always described herself as a ‘fighter’. The family would like to thank the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and all those who have provided support, prayer and encouragement throughout this difficult time in the life of our family.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
