It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Bridget O’Brien, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.
Margaret was born and raised in Ayrshire, Scotland, and moved to Calgary in 1976, where she continued her nursing career until her retirement from Mayfair Nursing Home in the early 1990s. Her greatest joy in life was her family, who will greatly miss her love and knowledge.
Margaret will be remembered by her husband of fifty-four years, Jim; her children, Jim (Lynn), Claire (John), Julie (Dan), and Louise (Marty); grandchildren, Steven (Lisa), Paul, Leah, David, Iain, Luke, John James, James, Andrea (Brent), Ryan, and Danielle; and her great-grandchildren, Jack, Taylor, and Hayden. Margaret will also be missed by her brother Gerry (Margaret); nephew Iain (Marie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends both in Scotland and Canada. She was predeceased by her wee boy Iain in 1964, as well as her parents, sisters, and brother.
