NOSEWORTHY, Charles Paul

Paul passed away suddenly at home on January 31, 2018. A brilliant mind and an astute observer of human nature, Paul was loved and well-respected. His career was spent working amongst friends in the seismic industry, both at the field level and then in management. Although he was employed by only three companies, there was a great deal of M&A activity: Canwest (Dresser-Grant), Quest, Airborne (Capilano-Trace-GeoKinetics). He worked, laughed and lived in many countries – Senegal, Nepal, the Philippines, Argentina, the U.S., as well as Canada’s Arctic and almost every province and territory. Paul often said that he preferred life in the field, but when Jean Charles arrived, Paul wanted to be home with him. A wonderful colleague, friend, brother, uncle and a devoted father, Paul was a very generous and kind-hearted person who will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his beloved son Jean Charles; his sister Pam; and his niece Lisa and her family. Paul was predeceased by his brother Brent in May 2017.

At his request, there will be no funeral service. A gathering in Paul’s memory is being planned by his friends and peers for early June; details to be announced at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Paul’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.

In living memory of Paul Noseworthy, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

  4. Vince & Bernadette Stagray :

We are so sorry for the loss of your Dad, Jean. I never met him, but my husband, Vince, worked with him way back with Capilano up to Geo-Kenetics. He had only good things to say about Paul. Vince respected and admired him a great deal. We had talked about going up to see him two years ago but, unfortunately, lack of finances didn’t allow that to happen. Our hearts ache with yours. He was an awesome man and we will miss him. We are happy knowing that his legacy will live on through you. Please accept our condolences.

  10. Barb Olesen (Sexsmith) :

Such sad news. I met Paul through my brother Larry when in Kelowna decades ago. Always with an opinion, he was the first person to inform me “You don’t put red wine in the cooler!” and he took us sailing our first time. He and my hubby Doug liked to try to out trivia each other. I don’t believe either ever thought they lost. Rest in Peace Paul.

  14. I deeply saddened to hear of Paul’s passing. After many years of working with Paul, he was a man I could always rely on to either come up with a solution or be part of the solution. Without doubt Paul definitely was a “Doodlebugger” to his core and the loss of his skills and analytical mind and drive to always get the job done will no doubt leave a huge void for many of us. I will certainly miss our occasional get together for noodles and a few laughs.
A man of integrity and depth you have left us with a gap that few can fill.
My deepest condolences to the family.
    Rest in Peace CPN
