NORDQUIST, Dylan Randy

March 14, 1999 – March 1, 2012

Dylan Randy Nordquist of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the age of 12 years in Edmonton due to heart complications.

Dylan was born in Calgary at the Foothill Medical Centre to Randy and France and to his big sister Kristina. He attended Father Doucet Elementary School and was currently attending Our Lady of Peace Junior High School.

Dylan was an avid sports fan who enjoyed going to the Flames’ games with his dad, spending time with his family in British Columbia during the summer and traveling to tropical destinations were some of his most favorite things to do, although Dylan was happiest when we had cozy family nights together.

Dylan is survived by his parents Randy and France; sister Kristina; grandparents Dick and Ruby; grandma Claire; aunties, Sandra (Kim), Rae, Danielle and Lucie; uncles, Claude, Serge and Michel; and many cousins whom he adored.

Dylan has touched many hearts in his short time with us and was a caring, considerate, kind, funny and forever loving young man who had many friends, too many to list although he had some real close buddies: Jack Haverstock, Jeremy Swan, Lorenzo Pornasdoro, Kyle Bodar, Patrick Jadzinski, Evan Moldenhauer and Brook Rivard.

Dylan was predeceased by great-grandma Carpenter.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W.) on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In Dylan’s memory, please wear a sports jersey. 5. I believe that there are angels who walk among us to make us stronger on this path of life. Dylan was that for me. His memory will be with me always, a quiet and special soul.
    Please accept these words:
“What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you left us, but that you lived. And that your life gave us great joy of memories too beautiful to forget.” My deepest sympathy and heartfelt comfort. Dal

  9. Dylan was always a good friend to everyone and he will never be forgotten. He has touched the hearts of many and will always be in our hearts and minds.
Dylan and I weren’t really good friends but we talked and we played school sports together. He had a great sense of humour, he knew everything about all kinds of sports and always told people about it. Dylan was a kind hearted person who helped others when they were down. I will never forget Dylan Nordquist

  10. Joanne Walsh :

I met Dylan when he was in grade two with my son. I would volunteer with Mrs. Hatch’s class and read with the students one on one outside the clssroom. Dylan stands out to me as a quiet spoken boy who was an excellent reader and introduced me to the Classic Flat Stanley books. I went on to work at Father Doucet from his Grade 4 year until Present. I would supervise the playground and will always remember him as a spirited tarmac hockey player. Though he wasn’t allowed the rough housing the other boys enjoyed, he would play goalie and referee at the same time. Dylan was a gentle soul who seemed to be liked by everyone and his absence will be felt by his peers. My heart breaks for his family as they will feel the greatest loss. God Bless you during this most difficult time in your life.
