January 22, 1923 – Manila, Philippines
November 7, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with sadness, but peaceful hearts, that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother (Amah), and great-grandmother (Ahtay), the cherished matriarch of our family. Lillian passed away peacefully of natural causes at the Rockyview Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Ernest Gococo (Edna), Cynthia Ng (Cesar), Jennette Cheng (James), and Vicky Kam (Tony). She joins in heaven her husband Alexander Go, beloved son Dr. Jim Go, her sister Go Imty, and her brothers Gan Siu Kit and Gan Siu Cham. Lillian was born in Manila, Philippines on January 22, 1923, the youngest of four children. A teacher, she taught a variety of subjects in Chinese school and raised a family before moving to Canada in 1975. Lillian loved to garden, travel, and was a constant and positive influence in the upbringing of her 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was devoted to her immediate and extended family, and enjoyed the company of a wide circle of friends. During her courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, she was surrounded by the love of her family and the constancy of friends, including Danny Co, who visited with her regularly. We will miss her dearly and she will live forever in our hearts.
The family extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to Leila Toledo Quinones and Ivy Toledo Tampis for their many years of providing care to “Mamang”, and to the staff of the Rockyview Hospital emergency ward on November 6 and 7 for their care and compassion.
