  2. Dear Wayne and family,

I am so saddened to hear this news. I had the privilege of working with Sandy at JB’s in one of my first jobs. As you well know, it was a truly unique group of women who all found a home there, and for me, Sandy was an integral part of that home. I carry so many lessons from her in my life – from her insistence that I work hard, always to her fierce and loyal form of mothering. She was also just plain hilarious and that made the working summers such a pleasure.

Sending you all my sincere condolences,
    Leigh Gibson

  14. Dear Wayne & family, it was with a mixture of sadness and relief that I read of The end to Sandy’s remarkable journey. Relief that she no longer has to work so hard to try to make everything right for everyone especially you whom she loved so much. Sadness that I can no longer go for a walk by the river and hear what amazing things her grandchildren are up to, and her son’s of whom she was so proud. Sandra was so wise beyond her years, and made such a huge contribution to her family, her friends and her community. She will be greatly missed by all with whom she came in contact. My most sincere condolences to you, Wayne and your wonderful family. Bev MacLeod
