Condolence Messages

  1. Dear Norma Patsy Peter & Sheila
My heart is a lot sadder today hearing that Jerry had passed away . My deepest condolences to you and your spouses and grand children . All the memories I have of Jerry were happy and more than fun . Norma. especially when Jerry tried to convince my Dad that Father Shea was cheating a bit in euchre !!
Also the night Jerry and you were waiting at home for Mom and Pop when Frank broke his leg . Jerry could even make a funny story out of that by imitating Pop
I will pray for Jerry and I know he will have them laughing up above and looking down on all of us to live each day one at a time as he did .
    With All My Love
    Jim Phelan

  4. Hello Norma,

A sad time indeed for all of us. I am so glad that we met up recently(despite the circumstances!)…Jerry was such a pleasure to meet…always a smile on his face, and a great attitude for enjoying life. He was very fortunate to have you in his life…I KNOW he was so well cared for.

An especially difficult time of year for you and the family…but I know Jerry would still wish you to enjoy the atmosphere of the season. He leaves me and many others with happy memories.

    Tony Binsted.

  5. To Norma and the entire Nelmes extended family,
Hi guys, just for what it’s worth during this difficult time, news this week of Jerry’s sad passing has rekindled many treasured memories of times spent together with both Jerry and all of you. The many hours and more miles of fun filled story telling driving in Jerry’s several Suburbans, or even the Gremlin, the awesome summer vacations in Quebec’s Laurentians and Jerry’s hilarious rendition and detailing of Quebec police’s Hollywood antics, the detailed tours of each and every one of Montreal’s 1,000 church’s, the Christmas’s in Florida, the several Christmas Eve’s and treks off to Midnight Mass, the times shared together with the Star family, the Pee-Wee hockey trip to Boston and all of its antics, how Jerry rescued Pete and I after his new Peugeot bike crash enroute to the golf course, and without question most of all just how valued and precious Jerry and Norma’s friendship was to both of my parents. As everyone who was fortunate to have known Jerry clearly knew, a true gift that he possessed was his ability to make others around him feel so special and happy. I certainly know that I for one feel both extremely lucky and privileged to have known him, respected him and been just one beneficiary of his uniquely genuine and special gift. Our thoughts are with all of you as we remember Jerry with the utmost love and admiration.
Frank & Sherri Phelan and family

  9. I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry and Norma last winter down south. It was apparent immediately that these two shared a great love of each other and life. Their eyes sparkled with a joie de vivre as they teased each other constantly, Jerry with his off the cuff remarks countered by Norma’s wit. And could Jerry tell a story, he relayed many a tale involving my former childhood hero’s “the Hab’s”. He will be missed and I am saddened by the loss. Norma, I hope you will find solace in your memories and strength from your family.
