NATE, Dennis Alvin

August 30, 2014 – Calgary, AB

Dennis Nate, beloved husband of Leah Nate of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the age of 90 years.

Dennis retired in 1988 from the City of Calgary Transit System as Shop Foreman at the Northeast branch. He loved going to the casino, especially Las Vegas and Jackpot Nevada. In his own words, “I was pretty lucky.” As well, he had a love for wood working and built many a crafty piece still enjoyed by his family and friends. Originally from the Wrentham/Warner area in Southern Alberta, Dennis always had a love for farming and horses.

Dennis will be lovingly remembered by Leah, his wife of sixty-seven years; his sons, Byron (Marlene) of Kelowna, BC and Gordon (Yvonne) of Calgary; grandchildren, Devin (Jennifer), Jason (Sarah), Dana (Cristian), and Terry (Candice); and his sister Fay Kuzmar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Dennis’ Life will be held in the Reception Centre at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Dennis’ honour may be made directly to the Santuari Hospice, c/o Calgary Health Trust, 800, 11012 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB T2J 6A5, www.calgaryhealthtrust.ca. The family would like to thank all friends and relatives who were so good to visit Dennis and special thank you to Colleen Grover, Al Snyder and Connie Miles. Special thanks also to Dr. Gould, Judy Biel and Dr. Quail.
