NARRAWAY – Lionel McKechnie

It is with great sorrow we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of Lionel, beloved husband, father and great-grandfather. Lionel is survived by his loving wife of sixty-nine years Anne; son Craig (Joan); three beloved grandchildren, Tad (Caroline), Trevor (Lori), and Lisa; and five great-grandchildren.

After spending five years overseas in the 8th Field Ambulance Medical Corps, Lionel returned to finish High School and then Engineering at the U of A. Condolence Messages

  1. Lori McIntosh (Wanjoe) :

Anne, Craig, Joan, Lisa and family…

I was just thinking of your Dad last week. I am so very sorry to hear about your great loss.

Lionel was a wonderful man, who I remember loved a good laugh, good food, and the importance of good friends and family.

I had the privilege of knowing him and Anne since I was very young and the memories of them both looking after our family when my Dad was hurt in 1970 and looking forward to receiving their yearly Christmas cards.

Thinking of you all during this very sad time. With love, Lori Wanjoe

  5. I’m sorry to have heard of your father and grandfather’s passing. I’m a Narraway (my grandfather was Athos Narraway (Lionel’s uncle) via my mother). I have been putting together the family tree and this is how I heard about his passing away. I’ve let my aunt and uncle in Ottawa and Toronto know of his passing away too. Our condolences.
