MYCHASIUK, Bohdan “Mitch”

June 21, 1954 – Lethbridge, AB
August 11, 2013 – Calgary, AB

Bohdan “Mitch” Mychasiuk, loving partner of Donna Topp, Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the young age of 59 years.

Mitch was born on June 21, 1954 in Lethbridge, AB and continued to call Lethbridge home until his early twenties. Following an adventure filled childhood and adolescence, he moved to Calgary, AB with Corrie Mychasiuk, the mother of his two beautiful daughters, Richelle (Aaron Saunders) and Nicole. Mitch’s two brothers, Jerry (Janet) and Steve (Brenda) also moved to Calgary where they all currently reside. Mitch was predeceased by his two loving parents Wasyl and Wasylana Mychasiuk.

Mitch was a successful cabinet maker for over thirty years, and when he wasn’t working, you could probably find him at one of his favorite places, a baseball diamond. If he wasn’t playing ball, he also loved to spend time with his two daughters, where you could probably find him getting kicked off of a soccer pitch. Mitch recently found the love of his life and a true angel on earth, Donna Topp. Although their time together was short, their love for each other could be seen by all who spent time with them. Mitch will now be watching over her, his family and all of his friends.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.McInnisAndHolloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to Right To Play Canada, 65 Queen Street West, Suite 400 Toronto, ON M5H 2M5 Telephone: 416-203-0190, www.righttoplay.ca

To all the baseball players out there you may not know that Mitch was also was an aspiring soccer player!! Got a goal at his first game. I think he realized it was too much running! Went on to be our goalie ‘extrordinaire’!!! Mitch will be sadly missed by many in all of his walks of life. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal” Words cannot convey my sympathy to his loved ones.

We were very sad to hear of Mitch’s passing. Our condolences to the Mychasiuk family. We will forever remember Mitch for his “encouragement” of the soccer referees to call a good game while we watched Richelle, Nicole and the girls play soccer. I can just hear Mitch telling those refs in the sky to “give their head a shake”. We will always remember Mitch with great fondness.
