October 14, 2013 – Calgary, AB
With heavy hearts and deep sadness, we announce the passing of Lois. She was taken from us on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the age of 58 years.
Lois was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was born on October 20th in Grimsby, Ontario to Ray and Erma Lounsbury and raised on a dairy farm in Smithville, ON.
In 1973, she attended the University of Guelph where she met Colin and they were married six years later. Colin and Lois moved to Calgary where they established themselves in their careers and started a family.
Lois was very talented with sewing, arts and crafts and she taught over forty children how to sew. She loved making home-made greeting cards and brightening someone’s day with one of her creations and a heartfelt note. She had a great eye for fashion, colour coordination and design. Once Andrew and Lisa finished school, Lois worked at several places over the years, including Ben Moss Jewellers, Weekender’s Clothing, and most recently, McInnis & Holloway as a Grief Counselor. She genuinely cared for people and wanted to help them feel at ease.
Lois’ memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband Colin, son Andrew, daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Josh, all of Calgary, her mother, Erma Lounsbury of Smithville, ON, and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Jim Walker, and Elaine and Paul Weylie of ON. Lois will also be missed by many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Ray Lounsbury and father and mother-in-law, Ivor and Joan Murray.
