  5. Patricia Pomerleau :

Aunt Frances was one of the most intelligent, funny, caring and thoughtful people on earth. We were telephone buddies and spent countless hours on the phone talking about family in Calgary and life growing up as a “Murphy girl” in Melrose, New Brunswick. Life threw a lot of curves at Aunt Frances, but she dealt with each one with strength, great humor, grace, and courage. She and her sisters Rita, Alice, Laura and Stella were the “Melrose beauties “and the pride of their loving “Daddy” and mother. Aunt Frances was quite the talker and I learn so much about the Murphy sisters’ early life through her as well as my grandparents lives. The deep tragedies of her life that she shared with me were the loss of her much loved grandson Craig and her adored daughter Kellie.

She talked with great joy about all her children, their accomplishments, their travels, their plans. How incredibly proud she was of her family. And, oh, her grandchildren. How she would gush over her grandchildren. How important they were to her and how they would visit and entertain here. I am saddened beyond words at the loss of Aunt Frances. Although we only met in person a couple times due to distance of geography, we were close friends. I know how much she will be missed by her children and her grandchildren. Your mom and grandmother was a force to be reckoned with. I will miss our conversations and her stories. However, my guess is that she is straightening up heaven as we speak, in a great looking outfit.

Much love and my deepest, caring sympathy. Your cousin, Patricia

  9. Susan Pomerleau Corkery :

To all of Aunt Frances’s family, I express my sadness for your loss.

I was blessed to have visited with Aunt Frances when she visited Burlington, Vermont a few years ago. She was such an entertaining force. I followed up that visit with a phone call that became a delightful three hour conversation. In spite of all her own children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren – she remembered the name of mine.

When I named my son Francis, my mother said it was a beautiful name that represented a long Murphy line. So here’s to you Aunt Frances and that long, wonderful Murphy line.

  11. Tony and Lynn L'Heureux :

Dearest Pat and Family. Such a loss. I was scheduled to serve at Frances funeral and was quite sick with the flu. Tony gave me a run down. I have been praying for Frances who is now in a room in our Father’s house. A friend phoned today to reminisce on your mother. She touched a lot of hearts. She will live forever in the stories and hearts of many. This is how we keep our loved ones alive. My friend, who lost her husband says she looks for the banquet where she will sit and be with all her loved ones. Frances is now doing that with Jesus and all the Saints. May she rest in peace.
