MULLIN – Adam James

October 9, 1973 – April 30, 2011

Adam Mullin of Calgary passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the age of 37 years.

Adam was born in Calgary. He moved to Whistler, BC when he was 18 and after spending one season there he moved to Vancouver where he worked in a men’s wear store and then at Exotic Car Rentals for a few years until he had an accident where he sustained a brain injury. The next eleven years were spent in recovery and rehabilitation in Ponoka and Calgary. Adam was also living with a brain tumor which ultimately took his life. Adam touched many lives with his humour, personality and spontaneity. He taught us about life, laughter and patience and we were blessed to have had him with us the past eleven years. Adam will be missed by all who knew him and came to love him.

Adam is survived by his parents Ute and Terry Mullin; a brother and sister-in-law Craig Mullin and Anna Topf and their daughter Ember. He is also survived by aunts, Nancy, Carol, Kim and Joan; Uncle Ian and cousins, Darcy, Meiyan, Tanis, Philip, Doran, Aaron, and Thorin. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Uncle Arnie, Uncle Al and Uncle Bruce.

A Celebration of Adam’s life will be held at Central United Church (131 – 7th Avenue S.W.) on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. A special thanks to all those who cared for Adam at URSA, ARBI and Agape Hospice. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to any of the above named organizations.

In living memory of Adam Mullin, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH Telephone: (403) 276-2296.

A child however is all the more difficult. I read your beautiful words about the humour and the laughter that he brought to your lives. May you carry these qualities with you as you make your way through this difficult time.

  12. To Ute and Terry Mullin
I read Adam’s obituary in the paper and am trying to send you my condolences and sympathy. However, being somewhat computer challenged I am not sure you will receive this.
Terry and I are out at the coast at the present time and won’t be home until mid May.
Here is a big hug for you Ute. No parent should have to deal with the anguish and sorrow of losing a child – especially under these heartbreaking circumstances. I am sending our most heartfelt sympathy to you both and for the rest of Adam’s family. I know you will miss him terribly.
    Love Sheila and Terry Dexter
