Reading the news of Karin’s passing away, stopped me right where I was. Although not extremely close to Karin (or her family), all that she felt, all that you feel resonates with me. It is a sensitive and personal time, enjoy the memories of the beautiful Karin – I know I will.

I worked with Karin at TD for many years and got to know her better through a shared passion for show jumping. We had lots of good times riding together. The world has lost a truly caring and positive individual. She will be missed.

  11. Bonnie Munro (McGrath) :

Karin and I and an assorted group of friends spent some of our school years together in Trochu. Lots of great memories of her mom, dad, brother David and the farm life. Lots of memories with our group of friends and the antics of teenagers. I was always proud of Karin and her courageous spirit and work ethic. When she moved to “the big city” she really excelled in her work at TD Bank and we kept in touch for a few years. Although we had gone down different roads after that, I still consider her a true friend.

My deepest condolences to her brother David and his family and to all her friends and family who are so saddened with their loss. I have never, or will ever forget her laugh and her feisty spirit. She was a good friend to me and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Goodbye friend.

Over the past 15 years Karin became one of my dear friends. We shared many, many hours of conversation about her life and her future. We delighted in the good times and sorrowed together over the challenges.
Through it all Karin was a genuine friend not just another acquaintance. Karin was passionate in her care for people and was always fully invested in her friendships. You always felt appreciated by Karin.
I think that is why she had so much success in her professional life and so many friends both in an outside the workplace. We all knew she cared about us and would be there if we ever needed her.
In the end it was Karin who needed us and I know that she was lifted up by the love and prayers we all had for her. Karin was so brave and through her long and difficult battle I never once heard her complain or express bitterness about her situation. She just calmly got on with facing it as best as she could. Karin’s strength and resolve was an inspiration and we will always have a place in our hearts set aside as Karin’s place.

  13. Neil Gregory :

I met Karin in 1998 when I joined TD Bank. She was one of those people that made an impression on you. She was down to earth, funny, sociable, AND ‘tough as nails’ when she was fighting on behalf of her co-workers/friends. No wonder everyone always felt so connected to her.
My daughter (12) got interested in horseriding/jumping a few years ago and Karin and I had few good laughs about everything that we were getting into. She advised that I “should never own anything that eats while I sleep” so she certainly had another laugh when I told her we had a new addition to the family last fall – Joe a 5 year old quarter horse. Bottom line – Karin was a GREAT LADY – and she will be missed by all of us. May God bless you Karin.
