MUGLESTON – James Louis

August 31, 1948 – March 25, 2011

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our devoted husband, father, grandfather and son who passed away at the age of 62 from sudden illness.

Jim was a mathematics teacher extraordinaire who touched the lives of many students over his thirty three year career. He was a distinguished leader with a generous spirit and a gift for helping others. He embraced life and not a moment was untouched by his mischievous sense of humour. Most of all, Jim was the heart of our family, a true inspiration and we are grateful for the time we shared with him. He is deeply loved and will be forever missed.

Jim was predeceased by his father, Phillip. He is survived by his wife, Linda, children Dean (Sheri), Christy (Neil) Hogg, grandchildren Kaitlyn, and Sarah, mother Anne, brothers Larry (Susan), Wayne (Kris), sister Vickey (Ray) Pacholek, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at McINNIS &HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Jim Mugleston, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park, Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot Chapel, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. Telephone: (403) 241-0044.

  4. Anne P. Sacco :

Dear Linda, Dean, Sheri, Christy, Neil, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Anne, Larry, Susan, Wayne, Kris, Vickey, Ray, and family, I had the great priviledge of working at Bishop Carroll High School in the 1990s. I met some really inspirational staff along the way. I can tell you that I was witness to many, many positive stories about how Jim had reached our students in a profound way. Inspirational teachers are rare, and it was my good fortune (along with many others) to share in that special community with people like him. Thank you for such a good man to touch the lives of so many. I send you my sincere condolences. May he rest in peace.
    Sincerely,
    Anne P. Sacco

I am so saddened by your loss. Jim was such a special person in our lives. His heart was so huge. My children, Jocelynn and Kenn were taught by Jim and think the world of him. He kept a watchful eye on both of them. Jocelynn especially formed such a collegiate bond with him. She so trusted his thoughts and opinions. The world has lost a beautiful man. Please accept our thoughts and prayers and know he will live endlessly in our minds.

    Dear Linda and family,
Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you mourn the loss of a wonderful man. I had the honor of working with Jim at Bishop Carroll High School for several years until his retirement.
