Condolence Messages

  1. Dave and Jennifer Brown :

Jenny and I send our condolences to all of Cheryl’s family and to Bryan but most of all to Jeanne, Charmaine and Dave. We lived next door for many years and saw you grow from children into adults. You’ve had to negotiate some big issues along your way to adulthood but you’ve come through it all. Our thoughts are with you. Your mum came to visit us a couple of years ago in Kingston and we had a great time together. We will cherish her memory. She was a good person. You are always welcome to stay with us in Kingston, we would love to see you again.
Take good care of yourselves and each other, Dave and Jenny

As well as knowing Cheryl from Deer Park we traveled with her to India. We remember well the many discussions we had and her penchant for bargaining. I am sure that there is, in her house, a wonderful carpet from Jaipur.

  8. Gerry Scharff :

To Cheryl’s family: I first met Cheryl many years ago at a meeting of women who were concerned about Issues Surrounding Language and Imagery ISLI. Cheryl always had good ideas about how we could work things out. Her passion for justice was important at a time when the church was moving forward to be inclusive of all. She will be missed. I am holding the family and friends in prayer.

  11. Lynne Hillard (Morrison) :

To Bryan, Jeanne, Charmine and Dave,
Cheryl and I had been in touch via email over this past year. She was ever so selflessly asking about my son Ben who is also battling cancer. I admired her strength, her compassion and her acceptance for where things were at. She knew I was homeschooling Ben and she sent me a box of things to help me with my teaching. Both my kids and I enjoyed the goodies. I have such fond memories of being on her family’s farm in the summertime. My brother John and I would often spend a week there and Cheryl would come and visit while we were staying with my Aunt Jessie and Uncle David. She would take beautiful photographs and would always make extra copies so she could share them with us. It is these photographs and memories I will hold and cherish. I am glad for the opportunity to have reconnected. I will miss my cousin, but I know that she is now safe with God and is no longer suffering.
Love, Lynne Hillard (Morrison), Ron, Sophia and Ben

  14. Bob Roddie jr. :

My deepest sympathies go to all of Cheryl’s family. Ms. Morrison, as she will always be to me, left an indelible mark on my life. She provided my first taste of passion for learning and that was in kindergarten–and I have carried this for 20 years in the classroom. She had such an amazing way with people and touched everyone in such a positive manner. Anyone who was fortunate to have had contact with her will know how much of a hole her loss has created. Please take comfort in all the memories you have and please accept my sincerest condolences. It is such a difficult time; all the great memories will always remain.
