November 25, 1923 – Big Valley, Alberta
January 26, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta
Wilma peacefully slipped away in the early hours of Monday, January 26, 2015, freed from pain and the debilitation of dementia. She leaves behind a legacy of grace, warm hospitality, good humour and love. Her family and friends will miss her sorely.
Born November 25, 1923 in Big Valley, AB, Wilma was the eighth child and seventh daughter of Nannie and Harry Lee.
Wilma and her husband Murray loved travelling and entertaining… their Stampede Breakfasts were a much anticipated, long-standing tradition! They were founding members of Renfrew United Church and Wilma was active there until recently.
Wilma is loved and survived by “her girls” Valerie White and husband Alex, and Marlene Monilaws. Also recipients of her devotion are grandchildren: Kyle White and wife Kristie, their children, Cadence and Edison, and Ashlie White. In addition, Wilma is survived by her brother Bob Lee and wife Edna, two sisters, Phyllys Jensen and Joan Litzenberger, as well as numerous relatives in the Lee and Monilaws families. She was predeceased by her parents, seven of her siblings, her infant granddaughter, Lindsay, and her beloved husband, Murray.
Funeral Services to honour and remember Wilma will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
