  6. Pam Pritchard :

    Hi Cliff,
I’ve known Marge for many years here at the Zoo. She was always such fun, and so dedicated to the Zoo, particularly the gorillas, of course. I always admired her perseverance in the face of adversity. I will miss her smile, her good humour. I’ve lost a good zoo friend, the zoo community has lost one of its strongest supporters and your family has lost a wonderful, special lady! Please pass my condolences along to your family.

    Take care,
    Pam

What an extreme privilege it was to volunteer with (fellow docent) and establish a warm friendship with Marge – a friendship that continued after I moved from Calgary in 2008. Gorilla Grandma was one of a kind in so many wonderful ways. I shall miss her regular communications. My sincerest condolences at your deep loss. Cherish all the wonderful memories as they will help to see you through this very sad time.

  13. For a time, I was Marge’s boss at the zoo where she worked part time looking after the phones and reception. She was an absolutely delightful person always with a smile accompanying an awesome sense of humour. My wife and I have many fond memories of Marge and her generosity, like the time she took her gorilla expertise to my son’s preschool. She was a huge hit!
Because of previous commitments we are not able to attend the funeral, but to Cliff and family, we want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you.
    Our sincere condolences.

To Cliff & family: pursuant to Clif Lumbers message, I too, was a Docent at the Zoo for 15 years. I remember Marge speaking with Clif and I the day we were to be “interviewed” for the Docent positions …she encouraged us and always encouraged us. She was an amazing woman who inspired everyone with her energy, vitality, humour, skills as a Docent, her speaking abilities (I remember she said she was scared of that at first) and overall kindness. She will be sorely missed by one and all. Big Hugs from Victoria, BC.
