MILLIGAN, Matilda (Tilly) Jane Selina

October 24, 1915 – January 21, 2013

It is with sadness that the family of Tilly Milligan announce her passing on January 21, 2013 at the age of 97.

Tilly was born on the family farm in Springbank on October 24, 1915. After completing high school she completed business school then took the civil service exam and worked for the Department of Vital Statistics in Ottawa during World War II. She returned home and married Whitney Milligan on October 1, 1942. They farmed and raised their family in Springbank. After retirement they moved to Calgary, then to Salmon Arm, BC and then back to Calgary.

Tilly is survived by her children; Marilyn and her husband Fred, Peggy and her husband Paris, and George, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Whitney, daughter Susan Lane, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

A Celebration of life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 8 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If desired, memorial tributes may be made in Tilly’s name to Beverly Centre Glenmore 1729 90 Avenue SW Calgary, AB T2V 4S1.
