April 28, 1933 – February 14, 2013
Irene Miller, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the age of 79 years.
Irene spent time as a member of the Calgary Kinette Club and was involved in numerous charitable endeavors. A talented seamstress and avid quilter, she was a founding member of the Quilters Group in the Carriage Manor Park in Mesa, Arizona, where she wintered for the past twenty-five years. She generously devoted time, enthusiastically helping those who shared a passion for craftwork and her beautiful, multi-colored creations conveyed immense joy. Always the gracious hostess, she will be deeply missed by the relatives and friends who invariably found themselves welcomed in her company.
Irene is survived by her two children and their spouses, Melanie Miller and Cory Krauss and Alan and Vanessa Miller; her brothers and their spouses, Gary and Myrna Folk and Joe and Irene Folk, both of Regina, Saskatchewan; as well as many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Ed Miller and son Craig. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation and gratefully acknowledge the extraordinary, thoughtful support of Marilyn and Jim Dixon, and the numerous doctors, nurses and staff at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice.
