It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Renée Middleton, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the age of 89 years.
Renée loved her family very much and was especially proud of her children. She is survived by her children, Bob Middleton (Heather) of Pritchard, BC, Tom Middleton (Marilyn) of Tampa, FL, and Doreen Middleton (Chris Hanslik) of Edmonton; grandchildren, Becky Ignatowicz (Mark), Tricia Middleton, Rachel Middleton, Todd Middleton (Andrea), Lisa O’Hara (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Ben, Meagan, Cassandra, and Caitlin Ignatowicz, and Carleigh O’Hara. Her sixth great-grandchild is due to enter this world in three weeks. Renée is also survived by sister-in-law Shirley Middleton; and brother-in-law Norman Middleton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Middleton; sisters-in-law, Helen Middleton, Agnes Middleton, Lil Larson, Kay Stoutenburg, and Ethel Pilkington; brothers-in-law Jack Middleton, Ed Middleton, Garnet Stoutenburg, and Harry Larson; and nephew Don Larson and niece Margaret Skinner.
Renée grew up in Canmore, AB, surrounded by the beauty of the mountains she loved. She met Frank when she was 18, and they were married the following year. After the war they lived in Calgary for thirty-two years before moving to White Rock, BC, where they lived until Frank’s death. Renée lived in Edmonton for her last twenty-five years.
A Celebration of Renée’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
