It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Roy Ernst Menz of Calgary, AB on Saturday, August 30, 2014, content with the love of his family. He passed peacefully with his beloved wife Dawn by his side. Although Roy was a young age of forty-nine years, he has given his family and friends a lifetime of love, laughter and wonderful memories.
Roy worked in the concrete cutting industry for over twenty-five years until he was forced to stop due to his illness. He was well-known for being one of the best in the city and took great pride in his career. In his spare time, Roy enjoyed cooking, playing pool, fishing and spending time with his close friends and family.
Roy is survived by his wife Dawn; his two daughters, Chantalle (27) and Shelby (19); mother Dagmar; his older siblings Cornelia and Ron; nieces and nephews, Christina, Crystal, Karman, Dion, James, and Nicholas; and his loyal companion Bark Vader. He was predeceased by his father Heinz Menz in 2005.
The Menz family would like to give a special thank you to Unit 47 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their loving care and support.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
