MELE, Antonio (Tony)

March 3, 1915 – April 25, 2014

Tony passed away surrounded by his loving family April 25th at the age of 99.

He came to Nordegg at age 11 with his father. Many happy years were spent there hunting, mining, and raising his family until the town closed in 1955. Tony moved his family to Calgary where he resided until his passing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, lively crib games, camping, wine making and watching his Calgary Flames.

He instilled a love of animals, the outdoors and camping at Nordegg in family.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Kay; five children Mary (Ron), Bill, Frank (Diana), Anne (Shane) and Lenore; grandchildren Chris (Cindi), Gina (Rick), Jessica (Dom), Michael (Shelley) and Heather, his great-grandchildren Alec, Marcus, Stefania, Zach and Nicole; his brother Frank (Serafina); extended family Jan and Farmer; his beloved cats Daisy and Tuffy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his cherished granddaughter Trisha.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) today, April 29, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.     Heaven must be a livelier place today as Tony joins his compadres. I know he will be saddened leaving his loved ones on earth but he will certainly be welcomed by so many in the afterlife.
