Cherie–Lou Meguinis of Tsuu T’ina Nation passed away on Friday, August 8, 2008 at the age of 30 years.
Cherie-Lou lived a full and colourful life in such a short time. She was such a giving and compassionate person who always put other people’s needs before her own. Cherie-Lou cherished and loved her seven children and always put their best interest first. She valued her Catholic and Traditional beliefs. Cherie-Lou was very spiritual and put her faith in her Creator’s hands. She had a good sense of humour, and her infectious laughter will be greatly missed.
Cherie-Lou is survived by her mother and father Louise Meguinis and Clifford Flamand; seven children, Sky, Greydon, Emily, Summer, Carrie, Wyatte, and Hope; most beloved and adored grandfather Mike Meguinis; siblings, Kylie (Lenny) Meguinis, Dustin Aberdeen, Kenny Spotted Eagle, Will Spotted Eagle, Dustin Spotted Eagle, Dillon Apssasin, Cliff Nadeau; adopted siblings Joey Spotted Eagle and Tony Spotted Eagle; her nephew Jaden “her little husband”; her niece Racquel and nephew Nicholas; Aunties, Shirley Meguinis and Norma (Earl) Littlechild; and uncles, Michael (Violet) Meguinis and David (Jackie) Meguinis. She will also be lovingly remembered by Kokoms, Norma Crane, Hazel Cut Knife, Rosie (Jerry) Houle, Dorothy (Harvey) Samson, Mary Jane Starlight, Eliza (Freddy) Eagletail, Audrey Pipestem, Cecilia Jacobs, Rose Pipestem and Donna Rowan; Mosoms, Wilson Okeymow, Clarence Cut Knife, Ben (Shirley) Cut Knife, Johnny (Delphine) Pipestem, and by other extended families. Cherie-Lou was predeceased by her beloved Kokom Emily Meguinis, uncle Harvey Meguinis, and by her cousin Vincent Meguinis.
Cherie-Lou will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Until we meet again…
Wake Services will be held at the residence of Mike Meguinis (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB) today, August 14, 2008. A traditional pipe ceremony will be held at the residence of Mike Meguinis at 8:00 a.m.. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church Tsuu T’ina Nation on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuu T’ina Cemetery (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB).
