  4. Vicki Fox Smith :

    Dear Stan and Barb,

I can’t tell you how often I thought of Mark over the past few years, hoping he was doing well and able to listen to the music he loved, and maybe attend a few concerts here and there. He was such a sweet, complicated, and wonderful man. Even though he was ill, your wonderful parenting still greatly impacted his life and his behaviour.

I know he is in a better place.

    Fondly,

    Vicki Smith

    Stan and Barb and families
I am very sorry to see Mark has passed away. He was a fun guy to work with and it wasn’t work really – he was a great friend and we had alot of fun listening to music and talking about animals. He certainly showed much bravery and his warm smile and kind heart will never be forgotten. Mark was a very loving young man and he had a special place in my heart
My deepest sympathy to all of you

  6. Cody Bowie and I were very sad to hear of Mark’s passing. Cody, Sheila Dodge and I have many wonderful memories of Mark living in Red Deer when we all were support workers at Canadian Mental Health. Cody and I still work together, Cody for the Schizophrenia Society and me for AHS at a 25 bed GroupHome in Red Deer. Sheila works for AADAC and we get together often. My favourite memory of Mark is the two of us hiking and talking the whole way. We were on our way to the all day free outdoor Rock Concert put on by the local radio station on a lovely summer day. Mark suggested since we had a long walk that we stop at the 7-11 and he bought chicken for a picnic. Mark was so musically talented !! I remember his amazing piano concert for the elderly people at a nursing home in Lower Fairview in Red Deer. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

When Mark was in Calgary and I saw him at church he always remembered me and called me by name. This was how he showed me that he always cared. And we always cared for him.

  9. Jeanie Guerin (nee Bartkiewicz) :

I was very sad to receive news of Mark earlier this month. Our families grew up in the same schools, 2 boys , 1 girl and 1 boy. If I remember correctly, our grades were also all the same, or all but one. It is sad to hear of the loss of such a gentle soul. We are certainly thinking of the McReavey family at this time.
