McNeil, Mavis Joy

Mavis Joy McNeil, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Born in England, Mavis immigrated to Montreal in 1945 where she resided for many years. In 2005 Mavis moved to Halifax, then to Calgary where she has resided since. Mavis was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary. Anyone who knew Mavis appreciated her joy in helping others along with her sense of fun. She loved singing, dancing and especially playing cards. Mavis was the loving mother to four children and their spouses, Carol Ann (Brian) of Halifax, Bruce (Doreen) of Calgary, Stephen (Nicole) of Blackfalds, and Ian of Lloydminster; five grandchildren, Candice, Dawn, Allison, Alexander, Jared; and five great-grandchildren.
