Condolence Messages

  1. I’m afraid I only knew Heather for a short while (at Sarcee Hospice), but it didn’t take long to realize what a special lady she was. After my Dads passing, I returned to Sarcee for a visit, and was saddened to learn the news. I will never forget the supporting chats we had in the hallway Diane – it somehow made what we were all going through a little easier. Cherish all your wonderful memories with Heather, and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you & your family & friends during this very difficult time.
    Lana (daughter of Bill Kostiuk)

Angus and I are very saddened to hear about the loss of Heather. We had the opportunity to spend a week together 8 years ago in Mexico and had so much fun and enjoyed her outgoing personality and flair for dress. She was a beautiful girl and we are all realizing how short life can be. Our deepest sympathies and prayers to all of you.
Sincerely, Donna, Angus and Meghan McCallum

I really got to know Heather while living at her brother Glens place in Calgary. We laughed the whole night away. Friends like Heather are the best presents one can give themselves. My thoughts are with you and your family.

  4. Joanne Yachimec (McHale) :

Joanne, Glen and Dianne…My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. . I regret not seeing Mac more often over the years…we tend to get so busy with our own life and sometimes forget those who made you who you are today. Mac, Trish and I ruled Dovercourt…at least in the softball sense! We had such great times..we were inseparable, traveling to Vancouver at 16 together, driving your mom crazy with our music, wearing way too much make-up..(.but we looked good! ) My heart goes out to you. Please know that Heather was one of the most important and loved people in my life.

Heather had a personality that drew people to her. It was only a short while that I knew her but we all shared a lot laughs and good times. She definitely made an impact on our lives. I take some comfort knowing that she is with her parents now. With deepest sympathy to all of you.

  7. Tricia Goertzen (Dove) :

My first reaction to hearing that Heather had cancer was total shock. As Joanne (Yachimec) stated, the 3 of us ruled Dovercourt especially on the baseball field. We had not been in touch for a long time, but the memories will be with me forever. Johanne, Diane and Glen may you find comfort in knowing that Heather is not suffering anymore and is at peace.

  8. We have experienced a very sad loss here on Earth.

But look up into the Heavens at night and you will see a NEW BRIGHT STARR in the sky. Her spirit and kindness will shine FOREVER

  9. Rose Matjasic :

I worked beside Heather at Plains from when she started in Feb 09. I can’t begin to count how many times she had me laughing . . . she was always smiling and her practical jokes had us curled up in tears at times. She had such a wonderfully infectious energy and her laugh was contagious. I can recall one joke e-mail I sent that had her hysterically cracking up for the entire day. My joy came from her reaction! It was priceless.
Heather will forever be remembered and missed. “I’m sorry” is not enough to relay my sympathies for both of your losses.

  10. Oh Heather, the world just got a little dimmer. Given your passion for style, fun, family, friends and yes, candles…our memories have no doubt become brighter. May we all embrace the warmth that you gave freely. God bless you and yours.

I had the pleasure of working with Heather for several years. She was my Executive Assistant, and I could not have asked for a more loyal and efficient co-worker. She was always pleasant. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her loved-ones. She will be missed. May God comfort you on your loss. I wish we had known she was not well as we certainly would have visited her.

It wasn’t that long ago when “Heather” came up again in reminiscent conversation and am truly sadden about her passing. Mischievous twinkle, copious laughter at school and of course on the ball field is what I’ll always remember. My sincere sympathies to the family.

  14. I knew Heather very well. She was warm, bright, loving…and fun loving. The glow in her eyes would light up a room, and somehow make everyone feel better. I wasn’t aware that she was sick and (true to her nature) she never told me. I still remember the time that Heather and I were at the NAIT annual fundraiser. Heather and Ralph Klien’s wife were bidding on the same piece of furniture, and I thought they were going to come to blows…Heather (of course) held her ground. Gosh I miss her.
