March 4, 1942 – August 31, 2010

It is with a deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Anna on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Forest Grove Care Centre. Anna was born on March 4, 1942 near Glasgow, Scotland. At the age of 19, she met and married her husband of forty-nine years, David on December 30, 1961. Together they had two children, Helen and David. In January 1966, together with her young family, she immigrated to Regina, SK, Canada. In 1973 she moved her family to Calgary, AB, where she spent the next sixteen years working in the retail clothing business and raising her family. From 1989 to her passing she devoted herself to her five grandchildren, Kristen, Aaron, Wendel, Kurtis and Sean to whom she loved and adored.

Anna was predeceased by her Mum, Helen Walker in 1994. She is survived by her beloved husband David McKinlay; two children, Helen McKinlay and David McKinlay; five grandchildren, Kristen Scarborough, Aaron Scarborough, Wendel Scarborough, Kurtis McKinlay, and Sean McKinlay, all of Calgary; three brothers, Archie Walker (Margaret), Robert Walker (Joan), and Mitchell Walker; one sister Grace Maxwell (Tam), all of Scotland; and many numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews all across Canada and Scotland, and her dear and close family friend Linda Scarborough of Calgary.

A Mother is someone you love from the start
She can patch anything,
From your pants to your heart
A Mother is a teacher, a preacher, a pal
Besides all of this, she’s a wonderful gal
She is everything nice,
And she’s loved a lot too
And Mother you know
That goes double for you.
Anna McKinlay
