  5. Mansoor Husain :

Of the 100+ medical school classmates that came together in 1982, my memories of getting to know the radiant Corinne stand out. It’s the lasting blessing you feel when you know you’ve met someone special. Her disarming smile, generous spirit, infectious energy and authentic compassion were as evident then as they were 29 years later at our class reunion.
In this all too brief last encounter, Corinne shared with me the pride and joy she felt for her children, and for her many personal and professional achievements. I was inspired all over again, seeing how the vivacious young medical student I was so fond of so long ago, had become this mature, confident, loving mother, partner, physician and athlete.
Knowing how positively she affected me in our brief times together as classmates, I can only imagine the enduring role model she must have been for those closest too her.
I was heartbroken to learn of her untimely passing. Corinne was a truly wonderful person, and I will always be grateful for having known her. My thoughts, prayers and sympathies are with you, her family, during this difficult time.

To the McKernan & Krebs family,

I was a classmate of Cori’s in medical school and had not seen her since our internship year of 1986 -87. I learned today in Toronto of her sudden passing from another classmate, Helen MacRae. We both remembered Cori fondly and our days together in Edmonton. She was spunky, opinionated and in short, another great example of an independent woman in medicine. I am sure your family is reeling from the loss of such a life from our world. It must be difficult to understand, but I hope that hearing about how much she touched our lives, even if it was long ago and far away, will help.

    With much love,

I just learned today, January 8th. This is shocking news. Corinne skied with us at the Campbell Icefield Chalet, at one of the Continuing Medical Education / Ski events I organized years ago. We joked since then that I was to report to her periodically, so that she could live partly vicariously through my adventures and activities. I see the invitation to donate to MSF in lieu of flowers; ironically I will be working for MSF in 2015. I will think of Corinne while overseas. May she rest in well-deserved peace. 76. So very sad to hear of Cori’s death. A very beautiful person. Had many adventures with her in New Zealand and Hawaii. My sincere condolences to her family. So tragic.
