  5. Carol and Hugh Jenkins :

Scott, Sandie, Gregg & Darin-we were so sorry to hear about Jamie’s death. It must be so difficult for you all right now and we grieve with you.
It seems hard to believe he is gone-when Carol thinks back to the time she spent babysitting all you boys one summer, she always thinks of Jamie as the baby.
Take care of yourselves; wish we could be there to give you all a hug.
    With love and prayers,
    Carol and Hugh

To the McGowan family, I am so sorry to hear of Jamie’s passing and send lots of hugs to you all. I am in Arizona now so unfortunately I won’t be able to attend the funeral. Jamie was quiet and a great guy. Glad he was able to play hockey as long as he did and take comfort in knowing he is with his parents now. Best of everything to all of you at this difficult time.
I will say a prayer for Jamie tomorrow.

    Marilyn McGowan

  7. I’d like to offer my condolences to Jamie’s family. I got to know Jamie over the last five years through hockey, and was always impressed at how he seemed to maintain such a positive attitude, in spite of sometimes difficult circumstances. While I did not know him especially well, I enjoyed the conversations we had over the years, and will miss seeing him on Tuesday nights. He will be greatly missed by all of his Tuesday night hockey teammates.

  8. I’m so sorry to hear of Jamie’s death. He and Darin were such good friends to my brother Mike and I growing up in Westgate. I have nothing but warm and happy memories of the times we spent together playing in your basement or ours, usually the sort of good-natured rough-housing that left us all in fits of laughter, and sleepovers where we stayed up too late goofing or just talking. Good times. In my mind he’ll forever be that warm-hearted kid who I was proud to call my friend.

  9. Patrick Kochorek :

I was saddened by how quick “our goalie” was taken from us. I have played 4 years with the Tuesday group, and have always enjoyed Jamie’s unorthodox, but effective goal tending style. I further enjoyed his calming demeanor and his wit; let’s just say he came up with a very creative & funny name for the vegetarian pizza my brother ordered one time after hockey at our post game hang out, Tipperary’s. I will miss you out on the ice, Jamie. My thoughts, prayers and support are with the ones you left behind. Enjoy your eternal starting position in the next life, where I will enjoy the opportunity to shoot on you again some day.

Such sad news — I’m stunned to hear.
My memories of Jamie are that he was a sweet, quiet guy with a gentle nature and an intelligent sense of humor. The world is a colder place without him.
Sincere condolences to his family and close friends.
    Rest in peace, Jamie.

  11. Extremely late, I find this news. I’m very saddened as Jamie was such a good friend during a certain era. Level, caring, humorous – a very nice person.

I’ll remember our last tennis game pal!

All the best to a good guy – so sorry for family.
