Allan McDougall of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the age of 86 years.
Allan was born and raised in Berwyn, Alberta where he excelled in hockey and baseball. After completing college in Camrose, he worked at the Canadian Bank of Commerce in Yellowknife where his team won the NWT hockey championship in 1946 and 1947. Allan joined Geophysical Services Incorporated in 1951 as a surveyor. He travelled extensively during his 35 year career to places such as Sumatra, Nicaragua, and all across the Arctic. He married Ann in 1953, eventually settling in Calgary. Allan maintained an avid interest in sports and the outdoors his whole life.
Allan will be dearly missed by his son Dr. Hugh McDougall (Jeri), his daughter Dr. Laura McDougall (Jerome), and his son Kent McDougall (Therese) along with cherished grandchildren Carly, Natalie, Conrad, Elizabeth, and Isabel. Allan was predeceased by his wife Ann, his brother Kenneth, and his sister Lois.
